So yesterday was my birthday, but I was too busy opening all of the prezzies that arrived (yay!) and getting ready for a party that I didn’t have time to post…but here’s a taste of the day:

I want to draw your attention over to the sidebar where you will now find a MadeByRae placket tutorial. Now you too can make a placket like you’ve seen here numerous times! Yay! Please keep in mind that the pictures are large (so you can see more detail) and the presentation is campy.
With that said, I hope at least some of you will find it useful. I have a few others in the works as well; if you have a tutorial request please let me know in the comments section.

I spent almost an entire morning last week with my coffee and chocolate biscotti perusing the Autumn issue of Small magazine because it is so awesome. If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and go take a look. The online magazine is free (!) and they’ll send you an email when it’s up each season. Their stuff is so cute. Someday maybe I could be as awesome as Alicia and get something in there…

I’d like to suggest, instead of a tutorial, how about you just start a sewing camp? You know, like we bring our machines and you teach us how to sew?

This is my first time commenting, but I found your blog via Sew Forum and the Itty bitty baby dress challenge. I can’t wait to make one for our upcoming Baby girl.
I should NOT even be posting on here since the amount of sewing skill I have could not even fill the hole of a button (although, incidentally, I DO know how to sew on buttons when they fall off things…sort of), but RAE – have you ever thought of going into BUSINESS? For real! I would buy! For real! And I for real missed your birthday so I hope it was fabulous (looks like it was!). Elliot is a doll. he’s a perfect blend of Nate and you.
Sewing camp *would* take time out of your sewing schedule…but you could use it to your advantage…think of the clothes we could crank out for Elliot! Oh, wait…I did say sewing camp and not sweat shop, didn’t I? Meh. po-tay-to, po-tah-to.
The sewing lessons would be great, but the other problem is that I’m really far from Michigan. Just sayin’.
