This month I’ll be teaching a class called “Make a Buttercup Bag” at Blue House handmade studio in Ann Arbor, Michigan, a cute blue house-turned-craft-studio across from the Big House (Michigan stadium). The class will be offered twice on Saturday January 22 so you can choose between the morning class 9:30 AM -12 noon and the afternoon class 1:30-4:00 PM. Prerequisite skills: you must be able to operate your sewing machine; turn it on, thread it, wind and load your bobbin, sew backwards and forwards. It would be nice if you’ve actually sewn something before, even if it’s just a pillow or a curtain. Come and join us to make a Buttercup Bag — I’ll bring both sizes of the pattern and we can even make the elongated version if you’re feeling ambitious.
Blue House also offers a class called “Basic Sewing for Adults” for beginners, so if you don’t know how to sew that would be a great place to start! You can see the entire schedule of classes here on their website. Registration is via email (click on the link in the right hand corner of the schedule page). Materials lists are sent after registration so you’ll have time to find your fabric and supplies. Hope you can join us, it’s going to be so much fun!!!

Any chance you might offer a class in the Grand Rapids area at some point?
I love the fabric that your purse is made out of. Can you tell me the name of it?
Yay! I'm going to sign up right now. I've been looking around for a Christmas gift to myself and I think this is it!
Hurrah Rae! You get to be a teacher again, except outside the lab – so jealous! It's going to be a great class!
I would love a get-together night or class near Holland/GR too =)
Ohhh…how I love the Blue House! I use to live in A2 and drove past the Blue House and the Big House (go BLUE!) almost daily. Just seeing the title of the post in my reader made me miss Ann Arbor. Wish I still lived there, I'd love to take your class.
i LOVE this bag and have been meaning to make it! i also LOVE blue house, perhaps I will make it there!
I just drove by there over Christmas! We went to a Michigan basketball game.
Hmmmmm – how about a class in the UK??? Around the Hornchurch area would be good! Hee hee – hope the class goes really well for you andeveryone has a blast!

So cool! Wish I could come to see you. Totally fun.
Sounds like fun, will consider this strongly. I still have to check out the Blue House and I think I have your pattern already, but have yet to make the bag. It's about time to make something for myself.
Wahhhhhhhhh, I wanna come
Sounds like so much fun!
Oh, I wish I still lived in Ann Arbor . . .
Love your Buttercup Bag! I made one the other day to give to my friend and I had a hard time parting with it.:) Thanks for taking the time to share your super cute bag with all of us.
I put your link on my blog. Hope you're okay with that?

Hi Jenny:
I found the fabric at Joann a couple years ago, but I don't think it's available anymore…and as far as I know it wasn't a designer fabric, just their normal store apparel fabric!
Oh, I wish I lived closer, it does look like so much fun!
