I took these pictures this morning.

E looked outside and saw the snow and asked: “Did it used to be Spring?” How to answer? And lest you think Michigan is always like this, a week ago Sunday it was 82 degrees.

Don’t worry, Spring Top sewing is still underway! Just a few more weeks to go! By then the snow should be gone. Should be.

I'd rather have snow than the overkill amounts of rain we're having here….

I was about to make a comment about how outside my window looks the same and I glanced out my window and it's MELTED YAY! Ours stuck for like three days but now it's 96% gone. Approximatly.

  5. Vanessa says:

We had a bit here on Sat. too, but it's all gone again. We have friends in ND who got 5 inches! I think Mother Nature is having a good laugh at our expense. I need spring too!

  6. Simply EC says:

That's what it's been like in Northern California this year too! We had snow last week! Today it's just raining! Thank goodness.

Isn't this just the worst. Sometimes I really have to question why I live in Michigan.

It snowed here in Wisconsin too! My 2 yo woke me up at 6:30 yelling 'snow'. I thought he was joking!

  14. Annik Miller says:

Ah, the joys of Spring in the Upper Midwest! We had snow (in Minneapolis) on Friday night but it was just a dusting and melted very quickly. When warm weather finally arrives it will be well deserved.

  15. Anne says:

  19. Grandma G says:

Same here in MN this morning. Fortunately, it was all gone by noon. Well, except for a few minor drifts left over from winter… but they're gradually melting, too. Now if only we didn't have up to 4" more in the forecast by Wed. a.m.! :( BUT IT CAN'T LAST LONG, right?! ;)

  20. Gail says:

Our lilacs are about to bloom and so I am waiting for the snow to come and destroy them before they get to bloom. It seems to always happen that way!!

  21. Sarah says:

We're in west michigan too and both my kids threw tantrums because they thought spring had left. We are so over snow here!

  22. Sarah says:

Girlfriends, we have were obviously not consulted about the weather here in the Midwest! I'm sure none of us ordered winter to stay later. :) My kids just give me disbelieving looks when I "claim" its spring!

I grew up in Byron Center, MI and i swear to you I had a birthday party cancelled for snow one year (my birthday is next week) seriously it's crazy weather. I moved to NC and haven't looked back!

Welcome to never-ending winter, part 36. Seriously, I'm not usually one to complain about this stuff, but this summer could not come soon enough!

  27. LiEr says:

Us too, Rae. I went into a serious I've Been Holed Up In Here Too Long funk after snow last weekend (i.e. 2 days ago). Supposed to get more snow tomorrow, too. You know what?
    (a) July will eventually come. It can't stay away forever.
    (b) That snow from 2 days ago is gone now. It doesn't linger and turn cement-esque like the January stuff.

    Hang in there!

  30. Michelle {Daydream Believers} says:

Ick. We woke up here (SE-MI) to icky snow too. I'm so over it… especially since I just finished sewing the girls' easter dresses; sweet little sundresses, perfect for the 80 degrees we had last week, not so perfect to wear in the snow. Ah well, I figure by Sunday it could very well be 80 again! ;) Have a great week! M*

  31. tamdoll says:

Wow. I thought I had it bad in NH… the snow finally melted from my lawn just a few days ago.
