Almost here: Geranium Dress!

I'm so excited about my new pattern that's almost ready!!! It's actually really TWO patterns that you can mix and match. One of the pattern options is this one, which is basically what some of you might remember as the "mini-washi" I made for Clementine during Kids' Clothes Week, except I figured out how to incorporate the sleeve into the bodice pattern piece to make it reaaaally easy to sew together:

Clementine picked out the fabric for this one, but so far she has yet to put it on. This one is a shorter top version:

She loves it and wears frequently (note to Lizzy House: More fabric with bunnies, please. That was the big sell on this one for my girl). The other pattern option is one that I've been getting requests for for years, a basic bodice with an optional flutter sleeve and notch neckline, and gathered skirt:

The dark linen version of the dress also debuted during Kids' Clothes Week (see this post), but if you follow this blog you have probably already seen this dress in a number of other iterations already, including the two polka dot versions, plus a few different sleeveless versions with trim (tutorial on attaching the trim to come, so easy!). I'm calling the pattern "Geranium" because the little flutter sleeve reminds me of a geranium leaf.

I find this sleeveless version especially charming; it's essentially the pattern in it's most basic, simple form. I also love the green corduroy (Karen made this one for Clementine as a fall/winter jumper):

And here's a little preview from the pattern itself, so you can see how mix-y-matchy it is:

So many options, you guys!! I think you'll find this pattern to be amazingly versatile, a real staple, like the Flashback Tee and Big Butt Baby Pants. And it's almost ready...I'll be back with some of the amazing photos from the pattern testers that came in this week, and hopefully a pattern, soon!
