On the Eighth day of Christmas [NOW CLOSED]

Thanks for entering! This giveaway is now closed!! Come back tomorrow for another pattern giveaway!

Happy New Year! You thought I’d slept in after a late night of carousing and forgot to post today’s giveaway? No way dudes, we have kids. We do NOTHING for New Year’s these days. I just accidentally auto-posted it for 16:00 instead of 6:00, heh, so it’s up a little late today; so I’ll just leave it open a little later tonight than usual. Anyway…Happy New Year and I hope you had a chance to have a wonderful celebration!!

On the eighth day of of Christmas, my true love gave to me…eight maids a-milking, seven swans a-swimming, six geese a-laying, five golden rings, four colly birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree!

….and Rae gave to me a Lickety Split Bag sewing pattern!

I find I use this bag more than any of my other bags; it works as a shopping bag, for weekend overnight trips or trips to the beach, as a carry-on, and when I had babies it was always the diaper bag. It’s so satisfying to get so much use out of something that was so easy to make! This is also one of my favorite bags to make as a gift; it’s so quick and easy to sew! The Lickety Split is also a great quick beginner sewing project for those who want to get into sewing bags without having to suffer through a long fussy project.

Here’s just a few lovely Lickety Split Bags made by others:

  1. Okay, I probably should just buy this pattern since I’ve been drooling over it for a while…it’s just that I often forget to buy the things I want and buy what I don’t (I blame the kids).

Still, I’ll go for my chance to win a copy first :)

    Happy New Year!

  2. We stay home for new years to! Watch a movie after the kids go to bed at normal time, eat bacon wrapped water chestnuts. Nice and relaxing.

  3. I’ve made a couple of your other bags, so I’d love to make this one too! Thanks for a chance at it! :)

  4. Thanks for the chance to win this cool and versatile pattern! I will have to buy a few more of your patterns if I don’t win them!

  7. I’d like to try this bag. I’ve made 4 show off bags (love that pattern!) and it would be great to make something new. Thanks for sharing and happy New Year!

  8. We also have kids are were in bed at our regular time. Babies still get up at 6am so no late nights for us either.

    Thanks for the giveaway!!

  9. One of the projects on my to-do list is to whip up a couple of simple bags to keep in my car for when I’m out shopping. I have so many plastic grocery bags around here because I feel so bad throwing them out. It would be much easier to just avoid bringing them into the house to begin with!

  10. I’m not a bag person, but I do wish I were and this seems like a great way to ease into being a bag person. Thanks for the giveaway.

  11. Love it!! My 7 year old got a mini sewing machine for christmas so he can sew like mamma – this could be our first project together.

  12. I’d love to try this bag – it looks perfect for gifting and who knows, I might even gift one to me!

  25. Cute bag! I’ve been in the mood to make a new bag, one that isn’t fussy and I could use as a diaper bag too would be awesome! :)
