On the Tenth Day of Christmas [NOW CLOSED]

Thanks for entering! This giveaway is now closed. Our next giveaway will open tomorrow morning at 6 am eastern.

On the tenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…ten lords-a-leaping, nine ladies dancing, eight maids-a-milking, seven swans-a-swimming, six geese-a-laying, five golden rings, four colly birds, three French hens, two turtle doves and a partridge in a pear tree!

…and Rae gave to me a Toddler Backpack Sewing pattern!

ToddlerBackpackCard_B

This backpack is designed for tiny backs and little shoulders: perfect for toddlers to pack their toys and treasures for play dates and excursions.  Since you probably won’t be able to stop at making just one, this pattern does include instructions to enlarge the backpack to fit school-aged children.

There are countless renditions of the Toddler Backpack in its dedicated Flickr Pool; the variety and attention to detail are astonishing!  I love how some have added side pockets for water bottles, front zip pockets, appliqued animals, the list goes on.

Array

1. Owls 2. Quilted, 3. Bicycles, 4. Doctor Who

The selection of photos above were taken from the Toddler Backpacks Flickr Pool.

Leave one comment on this post before 10 pm EST tonight for your chance to win this little backpack sewing pattern. The winner will be randomly selected, contacted via email, and will receive a PDF copy of the Toddler Backpack Sewing Pattern; all winners will be posted at the end of this series as well. Void where prohibited by law.

  24. Thanks for all of the giveaways!
I have an 8 month old that I would love to make a backpack for. I’m a slow sewer but I should have time to finish it before she goes to preschool!

  25. With my friends having babies, this is a project I could start now and have ready when they are toddlers!

  26. Oooo, I would love to have this pattern! My 4 kids would love to have mama made backpacks. :) Thanks for the chance to win!

  27. My baby isn’t **quite** a toddler yet, but I’d love to sew this for her when she’s a bit older! :)

  28. Such a cute pattern, by three year old might be too big for this, but we are expecting our third child this July!

  29. My kids have a strange obsession with backpacks. They would have me churning out one a week if I had this pattern!

  30. I’m sure my Ellie would love for me to make her back pack that has Elmo on it. I think we will probably hit that back pack phase this summer. Hope I win! Thanks again for the chance.

  36. I’d love to win this…although if I don’t, I’ll probably just buy it anyway, it’s that cute!

  37. I’ve been wanting this pattern (love the flickr pool examples) and have been waiting for my little one to get big enough (he has just turned 2, so think he’s big enough now)
    Thank you

  38. Such a great backpack! Our son always looks like he is going to fall over under his (too-big) child-sized back pack.

  39. MY little daisy is due to start preschool this year and I would live to make her a beautiful little back pack for the start of the new year!

  40. I’ve got four kids children, two nieces, three nephews, and three more new family members being born this year. All of these kids are age six and under! Since I take sewing breaks for sanity, I’d love to put a backpack pattern to use!

  41. What a sweet idea – I love a sewn bag that doesnt look too, well, you know, sewn! Thanks for the giveaway! x

  42. Oh yes, sign me up for this one! I have made so many bags for bridesmaids that now I want to try something different and this is right project for me at this time!
    Let it be me!!!!

  43. I would simply love to have a try at this one…fabric of choice: Heather Ross Guitars in gray and yellow!

  44. Those are adorable! I’m so happy you are doing this giveaway week, I had forgotten all the adorable patterns you have.

  46. I have a little girl who is about to start Kindergarten who needs the large version made up (in about 3 weeks- yikes). This is just the right size for her, and I can have so much fun with it too.

  47. I thrifted my daughters bag for day care… I hate buying all that licensed, gender specific, crap. It is a little small though. A mummy made back pack would be an awesome alternative… Though i’d probably use some vintage holly Hobbie fabric to make it which is maybe just a bit hypocritical….. It’s tough being a mum lol

  48. Oooo – yes please! I’d LOVE to win this and make them for my lil girls! Thank you for the chance to win!

  49. This is a great looking pattern and the flickr photo seamstresses have chosen some great fabrics to jazz up its simplicity! Gotta love it!

  53. I would love to create this for the little ones in my world! Thanks for the wonderful giveaways!

  54. This is the BEST giveaway! I would love this pattern. Thank you, Rae, for your generosity in running this series of giveaways.

  55. I’ve had my eye on this backpack for literally YEARS! I can never choose fabric for it and it seems so daunting to progress from BBBPants to a backpack!! My second son will start Montessori this year and I’d love to be brave enough to make them one each, they’re the perfect size for a change of clothes and some lunch.

  56. Ohhhhh fingers crossed, this would be perfect for my wee man to carry around his special toys (and will help not lose them when we are out!)

  58. Yes please!! Have a two-year old granddaughter’s birthday coming up!
Would be GREAT to win the pattern. Thanks for the chance!

  59. This seems like an awesome pattern and I love seeing all the different fabrics used for it. (As an aside, my husband gave me a set of ornaments for Xmas after Xmas – he forgot to wrap them up – they are the 12 days of Xmas and it has “4 calling birds” on it and we are in Australia (although they are probably made in china::seems like it could be a rare find to have it say 4 colly birds??)

  60. With twins due at the end of January, I have a feeling a few of these little backpacks could come in handy! Thanks Rae for being so generous!
