CORRECTING YOUR OLD PATTERN
If you prefer not to purchase the pattern updates, please correct the following errors in your pattern instructions:
Pattern Errata
- In Steps 1 and 3, instead of machine basting the piping to the panels with a 1/8″ seam, you should machine baste them directly over the piping stitch line.
- In Step 8, instead of sewing the side/bottom panels together with a 3/8″ seam, you should use a 1/2″ seam.

Thanks so much for making the update available for a lower price. I have made 3 of these backpacks with the old pattern with great results. And the parents of the kids have been happy too!
This update was perfect timing!! I was just about to make my first one of these for my son got preschool, and was wondering about lining it! Thanks, Rae!!
Thanks for the update. I just purchased it. I’ve make 3 of these so far and my grandchildren love them.
DS just loves his bag. I’ve got both versions now. I think i made 5 so far.
If I buy the update, will I be able to make the backpack bigger?
