Ack is it THURSDAY already!?!

I guess I ended up being gone from here a little longer than planned, oops!!  E has been sick with a fever for the last couple of days so there’s been lots of cuddling and less sewing than usual.  I’ve been catching up on laundry.  Cleaning the garage.  Doesn’t make for very interesting blogging though.  Rae’s Garage: Before and After?  I doubt anyone wants to see the pile of debris that I swept outta there.

On the other hand, maybe you don’t mind seeing what normal life is like around here…

Breakfast at our house.  Yes, that clock says 10 AM.  Shutup.

Raise your hand if your kid asks to sit and watch the laundry go round and round too.

Someone started crawling last week.

He’s already such a little nerd.  I love it.

E likes to sing and dance. ALL. The. Time.

This is like a Where’s Waldo except with E.  Can you see him?  What do you think he’s doing?

Why, bowling with his miniature Japanese eraser bowling set.  Of course.

Did you see that two of my patterns will be featured at Quilt Market this year?  I’m so glad Andrea was able to sew up those fantastic samples. Yaaaaaay!  As I have always wanted to go to Quilt Market, I am proud that at least a little part of me is being represented there.  Robert Kaufman will soon be featuring my patterns in their online gallery of free quilts and patterns

I’ll be back soon with….SEWING.

  1. I dunno, I kind of do want to see the garage before and after! I love that kind of thing! Might inspire me to clean out my back room, aka "The Den of Crap."

Yay for crawling, and sorry about the illness. We've been knocked down by three or four viruses this year as well, and it's really, really hard.

  2. raising my hand…
I just got one of those new front loading washers and my laundry room is TINY. Seriously. I can barely open the doors on them! But I get all 5 kids between 11 and 2 crammed in there staring at the laundry spinning LOL!!
Before that though… it was like cats watching the water go down a toilet.

  3. Robert Kaufman! You are such a rockstar. And if there was any way possible I could put off breakfast until 10a.m., I would. My kids melt down if they haven't had food by 7:30.

  4. My kids don't watch the laundry, but my son went through a bowling phase, and LOVED his miniature bowling set. Hours upon hours were spent rolling miniature strikes and spares. Love the "everyday life" photos. πŸ™‚

  5. I love my weird fambly! I can't wait until E and C are old enough for you to ship them off to me for a week in the summertime. you know, so I can make them weirder…

  6. My little guy has the same Paul Frank T-shirt. I've been really enjoying your blog. I gave you an award on my blog. Have a wonderful weekend.

  7. Congratulations on the branching out of your patterns!! All that work and a neat house, too? It's just not fair. I only get one or the other. I need to learn to multitask.

(Adorable little people, by the way)

  8. If I can help it, I avoid breakfast until 1pm. πŸ™‚

Jealous of your orange mixer. Mine's silver, which is fine, I guess, but that orange one looks yummy.

  9. I love the snap shots of everyday life. As much as we might wish or people might think, there is a whole lot more life going on away from the sewing machine :).

So happy I got to help your pattern shine!!

    Happy Weekend!

  10. Always nice to see everyday life. :o) I found my almost 2yo standing on the coffee table, dancing and singing, "1,2, cha-cha-cha" this morning. Nice to know I am not alone!

  11. Adorable! I'm all for the sewing photos, but those were great. Took me a minute to spot the little guy; I was so busy admiring his bedroom!

  12. Thank you for welcoming us in your house like that! Your house is very nice! and your kids beautiful!

  13. 14. I love posts like this. Such a precious way to capture an ordinary day with our wee-ones. So, so , sweet.

  15. thanks for the peek into your families life – beautiful.

If i had posted something like that this morning, my clock would have said 10am while devouring crepes too… and then I would have posted a picture of my one year old drinking out of the toilet!!!

  16. I am completely jealous that your house is that clean! My husband works from home, so is there with the kiddos (ages: 2.5 and 1) all day and works when I get home. I pick stuff up every night and STILL my house is not that clean! Be honest – you cleaned before you snapped pics right?

  17. AW
    Loved this post too!
What are your little one's names?
I like boys names that start with E.. lol…
I have two boys 3 and 1… my day looks similar to yours.. although much messier.. LOL! Oh and my boys love to sit on the dryer too!

  18. I would love to see the before/after πŸ™‚
We also have breakfast around 10 a.m. around here.
Life isn't always as exciting as we would like, but I kind of like it this way also…
    And congratulations!

  19. one of my favorite posts. I love seeing a "day in the life" kind of thing.

And what??? Your patterns??? we need to talk. gchat me whenever πŸ™‚

  20. Your children are ridiculously adorable, but I LOVE the rug on the floor in the room where E is playing with his little bowling eraser set. LOVE IT. I don't suppose you know where I could find something similar..? (Reminds me of some rugs my folks had when I was tiny. Love.)

  21. How fun to get a peek into your daily life, fun wall colors, and cutesy kids (that mini eraser bowling set would have entertained me for hours at that age). Thanks for sharing.

  22. Love the photos. And love how you are using the Eames' chair as a baby chair, even though you obviously have two Tripp Trapps πŸ˜‰

  23. Wow I'm glad I did an "at home" post…I think of it as kinda boring but I guess it's fun to see inside people's houses and lives a little bit

Margaret (and others who have asked): the rug in E's room came from IKEA, but I purchased it in 2003 or 2004 I think, so I'm doubting they even sell these anymore…I looked online to see if I could find it and they don't have it there.
