Coming Soon: Geranium Dress in Larger Sizes!

I have a little feeling you’re gonna love this.  Behind the scenes over here we’ve been working on sizing up the Geranium Dress!  The Geranium Dress will SOON be available as a separate PDF pattern, in sizes 6-12. I know a lot of you have been asking for a bigger version of this sweet little dress, and your wish will be granted imminently.  We’re just putting the finishing touches on the pattern.

Now for some sneak peeks from my awesome testers! Lynn at The Little Red Hen blogged here about the version she made for her daughter, Miss P (this is the size 6, lengthened a bit):

Even more adorable versions from the testers:

Left to Right: Green & Yellow (by Brittany), Purple Floral (from Sarah), Colorful Dots (from Cindy), Roses (by Clover):

I love the pintucks on this version from Johanna:

A couple more sweet necklines:

Now, something amazing.  Miss P made this green tunic all by herself, using her mom’s Bernina!  Didn’t she do a lovely job? You can read more about it here. She used Heather Ross’s Crafty Chloe fabric. I can’t tell you how excited it makes me to think of kids making their own garments!

There are a few more testers’ photos in the Geranium Dress Flickr Pool. Before long you’ll be able add your own! Stay tuned.

  1. Exciting news, indeed!
I’ve been watching the larger sizes Geranium popping out in flickr groups, but assumed these ladies were sizing it up 🙂
Can’t wait to give it a try as well!

  2. YAYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!! We just adopted an 8 year old and she is starting to notice all the mama-made clothes that her little sister wears. I can’t wait to get started sewing for her 🙂

  3. What are the chances that you will possibly sell the two sizes as a bundle? Just sayin it for all of us with lots of girls in a range of sizes…

  4. This is exciting news, though I’m not sure the girl wearing the blue striped geranium would agree. 🙂 I’ve seen that look on my baby brother in oh so many pics when he just gets done arguing with my mom and refuses to smile for a pic….or is “too cool for school”.

  5. Yay! I’m so excited to hear this. I love this pattern and my girl is already in the largest size. I’m so happy to be able to make more Geraniums for next summer 🙂

  6. Yeah I am one of the ones nagging for the bigger sizes! In fact if you did a package of both patterns I would buy it as I have a size 3 and a size 6 girl!

  7. yea! I have been “patiently” ha ha waiting for this. I have one girl size 3, but two in size 7… so I’ve been waiting for the larger version after trying out the free baby pattern for gifts (and loving it!) I would buy a package of both patterns as well (like you had for the flashback skinny Tee) 🙂

  8. I can’t wait! I just scored so much awesome fabric on the cheap at a garage sale. School starts up again mid August and I can’t wait to outfit my kindergartener and 2nd grader in cute new dresses!

  9. Great tutorial Rae!
I will be sure to use these techniques from now on. I usually rush through projects and never take time to finish the inseams etc…but I’m trying to be more intentional and perfectionist in my sewing.

  10. I’m so excited to hear this! Right now, my daughter is wearing one of the half dozen Geraniums that I’ve made her over the past few months – she just loves the pattern and so do I. She’s wearing a 5, so I will be buying the larger one when it comes out!

  11. Oh Rae! This is so exciting, I can finally sew a geranium dress for my daughter! Thanks for all the hard work you put into your patterns!

  12. would love to TEST can’t wait as I’ve a family reunion coming and what could be better than family (girls) dress alike!
