We interrupt this blog for a very important announcement

Hey there MBR readers!*

Rae’s sister Elli here. Today I’m hijacking the blog because a) I have Rae’s password, b) if I don’t, you’ll never get any of the juicy gossip, and c) Rae said I could. Anyway, she has a little announcement…

Rae is pregnant with baby number three!!!

I’ll pause here so you can go back and scrutinize her latest photos for bumpage (a few more) Done? Yeah, you’re right…she’s not huge yet. She’s also been wearing some blousey stuff lately. Sneaky.

The Important Details

-Rae is 18 weeks along and feeling great! Not too barfy. I haven’t detected a glow yet, but we’re monitoring her closely.

-Baby produce size comparison: bell pepper. Yum.

-Due Date: early April!

It’s never too early for Big Butt Baby Pants

Rae told me to to keep it short and non-sappy. My work here is done. Over and out!

*why is there no good nickname for MBR Readers? I kinda want to call us Raisins (because it’s hilarious) but ten points if you can come up with a better name. Shouldn’t be too hard, come to think of it.

  3. Woohoo! Way to go, Rae! I was indeed a little suspicious when i saw the recent pics (esp. those of the ‘fabric fair’, sorry forgot the proper name) but ti have it confirmed is the most wonderful news for Mr. and Mrs. Rae, and big brother and sister!
i wish Rae a comfortable pregnancy and a healthy baby in April!

  4. Congratulations!

I think we Raisins should throw Rae a virtual baby shower and make baby items using her fabric line(s) and patterns.

  5. First. I love your sister.

    Second. Hurray for baby #3!!

Third. Grouchy-pregnant-lady humor is my favorite. Just sayin’. In case you ever feel like ranting.

  6. Congratulations!

I think we Raisins should throw Rae a virtual baby shower and make gifts using her fabric line(s) and patterns.

  7. Yaaaaaay!!!!! Great announcement, Elli (more Elli writing on the blog, please)! I’m so excited and happy for you and your kiddos (and Mr. Rae too, hehe). And I’m super excited that you’re only 6 weeks behind me – so fun to be pregnant together! If you need any advice, those extra 6 weeks have made me very wise. 😉

    Take care, mama!!

  8. Oh, wonderful news. Very not-sappy! Great job. One thing is sure, that will be a well-clothed and well-loved baby! Congratulations to Rae, Mr Rae and the little Raelings!

  9. ooooh what wonderful news! Congratulations! I wish you a good pregnancy and and beautiful baby!

  10. Congrats, Rae!! Hopefully I will see you tonight and tell you in person. So exciting! Baby sewing is the best too.

  11. I haven’t read all the comments, so I may not be unique, but my first though was to call us “RAEders.” Congrats to Rae!

  12. Congratulations! I hope this is a smooth sailing pregnancy!
Toughie on the name… I like rasins and rae-ons. or how about a combo of crazy rae peons – crayons! 🙂

  13. Seriously just told my husband the other day, “I think Rae might be pregnant. She’s wearing a lot of blousey stuff.” Nailed it! Congrats!

  14. Yeah! Congrats! I’m sure you’re up for another amazing and beautiful child. Guessing from the great pics of your two older kids, I think there must be some really good genes around 😉

  15. Congrats to Rae and family! I started wondering a couple weeks ago. I don’t know if it was because I was seeing more blousey tops or what. 🙂

  16. Congratulations! I’m currently knocked up myself, almost 26 weeks. I’m having my second boy, so I selfishly want your LO to be of the XY variety as well for more project ideas and CTB goodness 🙂

  17. Awww – what happy news to share! Congratulations!

And yup. Raisins is perfect. Just the right mix of humor and mystery. 🙂

  18. Raesins is pretty good. I didn’t read all the comments, but I’d be surprised if nobody has already come up with RAEniacs. (because that’s really how often I check this blog!) Anyway, congratulations!!! I’m excited for more baby projects, as I am currently preg with a baby #3 of my own. :o)

  19. CONGRATULATIONS, Rae!! I’m so excited for you and your family! Also, I’m excited for us and all the great baby sewing you’re bound to do in the coming months! Yay!

  20. Hurray! Congratulations! Looking forward to lots of baby pictures!

I’m going to use this opportunity to request a Washi variation that is nursing-friendly. I can’t figure out how to hack it myself. I SO want to make the dress, but everything I wear has to be quickly accessible for a small, demanding person.

  21. Congratulations! I hope you’ll be posting a lot of baby-inspired tutorials in the future as I am due in early February!

  22. Congratulations to Rae and her family!

I wish you the very best.

  23. Oh how wonderfull! Congratulations to the whole family! Enjoy every moment of it, I’ll cross fingers that it will be a very nice pregnancy 🙂
    Many greetings from Belgium 🙂

  24. BRILLIANT post, both in form and content 😀
    Congratulations, Rae and family!

I love Raesins, and Raeniacs. How about Raeders?

    Big love. x

  25. OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! RAE?!
    I’m so excited for you.
Seriously. Really, really cool. I know you’ve wanted this for a long time now so I hope everything is going smoothly.
And dude, is that the coolest ultrasound profile shot ever?? It’s perfect! And the baby butt pants seal the deal. haha. Love it.

Congrats to you and Nate! And Elliot! And Clementine! Can’t wait to see what another Hoekstra looks like.

  26. Massive congratulations from your Morocco fanbase. Looks like the ever-expanding washi expansion pack will need a maternity expansion option. I vote for one hilariously shirred front panel in the shape of a heart or sonogram silhouette. KID-ding, though, of course. Or am I? (If I can’t make shirring jokes here, there’s sadly no home for them on planet earth). Lovely post. Nice work Elli!

  27. Congratulations!! Such exciting news!
I’m due with baby #3 April 10th so am excited to see what baby sewing projects you come up with!!
