I wanted to show you guys a neat project from another one of our fantastic judges. Kelli of Presser Foot (a group sewing blog that she runs along with her sister Rian) is currently making and blogging a simple top in seven different ways!
Here’s her basic pattern:
Here’s a few of her variations, all from that ONE pattern:

I love this sort of thing. It’s exactly how I prefer to sew for myself: start with one reliable pattern and vary it up in endless ways. Kelli even includes tutorials on how she made the variations! You might find some tips or inspiration for sprucing up your basic top pattern, so check it out:

Follow along with Kelli on Presserfoot as she posts even more. Thanks for sharing Kelli!!!

One Response to Spring Tops: Judge Kelli shows you one top seven ways!

  1. Lettie says:

I'm so glad you posted this. I have that same pattern and haven't used it yet. I thought I'd try to join in last minute and sew a spring top, but I don't think it is in the cards. But it is nice to see how versatile this pattern can be. There's 2 other cute versions of it on angry chicken too: http://angrychicken.typepad.com/angry_chicken/2009/08/liberty-blouse.html and http://angrychicken.typepad.com/angry_chicken/2010/01/peterpan-blouse.html
