Lotus Pond is Here!

 (see the Pin here)

Folks! It’s finally here! My new collection for Cloud9 Fabrics started shipping to fabric stores all over just a couple of weeks ago. Lotus Pond is made up of 12 prints in quilting cotton, and hooo boy am I ever in love with it. One of the things that makes me so happy to work with Cloud9 is that all of their fabrics are certified organic. All of them!

I am super duper thrilled with how Lotus Pond turned out!! The colors are so vibrant, and the cotton is lovely and soft and smooth. As you know, I’m more of a garment sewist than a quilter, and I’m very happy to report that this quilting cotton serves very well for garments, especially children’s wear. It’s light enough for warm weather tops or dresses, but I think it’ll be sturdy enough to whip up a few shoulder bags or purses.

Stay tuned over the next couple weeks…I have a LOTUS POND EXTRAVAGANZA in the works, so you can see how a bunch of my blogging buddies have been inspired by the frogs and lily pads and snails!!!

If you’ve already snatched up some Lotus Pond of your own, please JOIN US! and share your photos on Instagram with the hashtag #lotuspondfabric or in the Lotus Pond Flickr Pool!

  1. Those snails are to die for! Love it! Already thinking about what I would make with it. Great job!

  2. Rea does it wrinkle badly? I just love it and I don’t get excited about many fabrics. I would love to use some for my grandson. I am making rompers and wondered about wrinkling as I don’t think daughter would iron. I am definitely getting some for a bag for myself.

    • hi honey (hee that sounded funny, like I’m talking to Mr Rae):

ANYWAY. So this fabric is just like any other quilting cotton in that it does wrinkle if you leave it in the dryer to cool; however, I’ve found with my kids’ clothes that if you can pull it out right after the tumble dry cycle is over, while it’s still warm, wrinkling is usually not a problem.

      Hope that helps!

      🙂

  3. I could seriously make a wardrobe out of your dress patterns and this collection. I want to make at least 3 skirts to wear through the week. I can’t wait to pick this up at Pink Castle!!

  4. I can’t stop watching them, their so georgeous ! I was already a huge fan of the flannels, those cottons are incredible.
I especially like the Meadow Blossoms (can’t decide if blue or white !), the multicoloured snails, the blue lotus and the Liy Pond with his deep blue.
Too sad they’re not easy to find in Europe, the shipping makes them twice the price… I’ll continue stalking Etsy and other fabrics shops, waiting for pay day 😉
