Catbells Sweater

Continuing with my unofficial “This is no longer a sewing blog” theme: another knitted project. This sweater — Catbells by Pip&Pin — took me most of last year to complete. I started it in March and finished in November. The yarn is Shepherd’s Wool, a worsted weight yarn made here in Michigan that I buy frequently at my LYS (Spun) for yarn-based projects, like this baby sweater for the Hugonaut, and this blue one for Elliot. The yarn is relatively inexpensive, and I find it soft and cosy and the colors fun.

I’m not sure I have exactly the fit I was hoping for, and the sweater grew quite a bit while blocking despite my best efforts, and seems to be growing as I wear it, so it’s less fitted overall (especially at the waist) and longer than I expected, even though I shortened the length in the pattern. Still, it achieves a slightly oversized, comfy style that I like, even if I didn’t get the cropped look I was going for (and which I catch from the cover photo of the pattern, which completely sold me on this sweater).
