Mellow Yellow Citrine

This week I’m sharing some previews of my upcoming pattern, Citrine!!

UPDATE! Citrine is here and is now available in my shop!

Citrine will be offered in our newly-expanded size range with fourteen sizes A-N designed to fit chest measurements up to 66" [168 cm].

The pattern has two views, and in this post I’m highlighting view b, which features a gathered sleeve, gathered waist, and buttons (in my last post, I highlighted view a). To me, view b is really the “fun” view - with Big Drama sleeves and gathering at the waist. View b also looks great with or without the buttons (I’ve done both).

For this version of Citrine, I used a textured knit I had in my stash for the main part of the cardigan, paired with a lovely organic 1x1 rib knit in the color “mellow” from ISee Fabric. I like that this company offers beautiful organic knits like french terry, jersey with matching colors in ribbing - perfect for this pattern! I really love this gorgeous pale yellow color.

In a later post, I’ll talk about all of the different fabrics I’ve used for my Citrine cardigans, and compare them side by side.

I’m really happy with how the button placket came out on this version - I’ll share my trick for creating really smooth buttonholes in a subsequent post.

With this view, I love that the gathering at the waist really highlights the cropped length, which looks fantastic with my high-waisted patterns like Cleo and Rose. Shown here with my green Cleo maxi skirt:

Citrine will be ready for release soon — I hope to have it ready next week or the week after!! We’re putting the finishing touches on this pattern, so check back or sign up for my newsletter to be notified when it launches!
