Sew with me this spring!

I'm incredibly proud of the online classes I made back in 2018 for Creativebug to go along with my Isla, Cleo, and Gemma sewing patterns. I also teach a beginner sewing series for kids clothes called "Sewing for Little Ones" that includes beginner pants, a little dress, and trace-and-make tee and leggings. I worked hard to create those  class outlines and sew all of the step-ups (you pre-sew multiple identical garments to varying degrees of completion ahead of time, to help save time while you're shooting), but I will never forget how fun it was to work with the team at Creativebug: the camera crew, artist coaches, and project coordinators. That photo above is Baby Rae (LOL - ok…I was 40, still feels like a long time ago!!) while I was shooting the Isla class, and below, when I was shooting the Sewing for Little Ones series before that.

At first you could only watch my classes with a subscription to Creativebug, and even though it has always been super affordable and there are always free trials and sales, I understand why the subscription is not for everyone. This year, however, Creativebug began offering my classes for individual purchase (ala carte) AND this month they're having a “pre-Me-Made-May” sale -- 30% off garment sewing classes -- so I wanted to let you know both about the ala carte thing and the sale on my courses. I think you'll really love sewing along with me!!!

take 30% off until end of April

Here's a quick overview of the skills I cover in each course; each one offers something a little different and of course they're also chock full of the usual Rae tips and tricks:

Isla: you'll learn knit sewing techniques for the Isla dress and top, including knit seams and facings, and shirring with elastic thread for this dress and top pattern.

Cleo: you'll learn how to make both views of the Cleo skirt pattern, including the two different kinds of pockets and two kinds of hems, and learn how to sew the fantastic half-elastic waistband that makes an appearance in both my Cleo and Rose patterns.

Gemma: you'll learn how to sew the Gemma tank, including sewing bust darts, finishing a neckline with bias binding, and how to mod the pattern by adding a gathered ruffle (it's a super cute variation!).

Sewing for Little Ones: this series is truly set up for beginners, literally I start with how to thread a sewing machine. You'll learn to sew a pair of beginner pants (Parsley - pattern included), a beginner dress (pattern also included), and you'll get started with knit sewing with a trace-and make t-shirt and legging set.

I really hope you enjoy them!!!
