Take a look at Emiko's beautiful Sapphire dress
Sapphire is out in the world and I’m so excited to show you what some of our preview testers made with this pattern!
In this post I’m featuring the beautiful Sapphire dress that Emiko made to test out the pattern as one of our preview testers. Emi has tested other patterns for us before, including Garnet and Citrine, and the Trillium/Washi pattern when we updated it in 2020, so you might recognize her from those previous posts. Emi chose a linen fabric featuring an elegant leaf print for her Sapphire.
Here is her gorgeous version of this pattern:
Here is what Emiko said about her Sapphire:
“I fell in love with this dress at first sight. Sapphire offers a nicely fitted bodice with the perfect amount of ease, and the best part is the elastic at waist and sleeve cuffs. The elastic provides shape and comfort, and I love the fact that I can still wear it if I put a little bit of weight on due to the ease, haha.
I used a light weight linen that I purchased in Japan, and hoarded it for years thinking that I would make a bigger garment such as a maxi dress to fully appreciate the fabric, so Sapphire was perfect for it. The pattern comes with great instructions, so very easy to follow. I am looking forward to wearing this daily, and it will also be suitable for holidays, too!”
(Emi also noted: “I am 158cm tall, I love a maxi dress, so I left everything as it is, and I absolutely love it.” This may be helpful to you if you are wondering how long to make your own Sapphire.)
Thank you so much for previewing Sapphire, Emi! Your flowy linen dress looks absolutely delightful and I hope you’ll wear it all the time.
