Take a look at Nandita's colorful Sapphire dress

For this post I’m excited to re-introduce Nandita, who long-time readers will recognize as a previous guest of the blog; Nandita has sewn many of my patterns and was one of our Garnet preview testers; I also featured her lovely makes in this this post: A Handmade Travel Wardrobe by Nandita. I’m always excited about the colors and beautiful prints that Nandita finds to make herself unique, bespoke clothing - you can just tell she takes so much joy in expressing herself with her handmade wardrobe.

For my newest pattern, Sapphire, Nandita created this fabulous dress as part of our preview tester group:

These tiny little flower buttons are the perfect pairing with this fun floral Ankara fabric:

Here’s what Nandita had to say about her Sapphire:

I made my Sapphire in a beautiful patchwork Ankara. The fabric is 100% cotton and I would consider it mid weight. I used adorable yellow flower buttons. I made a faux button placket but the buttons add such a gorgeous finishing touch.

This latest dress from Rae makes me feel like I can take on the World! It’s both polished and comfortable at the same time. I especially love the side slits and the neckline.

The only modification I made was to shorten the skirt for my height.”

(and she notes: “I’m a solid 5’2” on a good day.”)

Thank you so much for being one of our preview testers, Nandita! I’m so enamored with this delightful Ankara fabric you chose, not to mention those fun sparkly slides. Perfection!
