Isla Dress in Sidewalk Knit

Isla Peplum in Sidewalk Knit

Aww yeah is it Spring yet? This dress is definitely screaming “SPRING” to me! It’s an Isla Dress made with the “Prize Garden” floral print from Sidewalk, my line of knits for Cloud9. This print has been really popular and it’s definitely one of my favorites. Also: cute with my cropped cardigan, no?

Isla makes a great template for this showy print.

The Isla sewing pattern is the first women’s pattern I designed for knit fabrics. I’m thinking about doing a sewalong for Isla this spring. But I don’t know…Cleo would also make a really fun spring sewalong too. What do you think?

  1. Oh my goodness I love this! Amazing. Yes please to a sew a long! As it’s a dress made with knit fabric do you think you could get away without doing an fba? X

    • Hi Melissa,
Yes you could definitely get away without the FBA if you used a nice stretchy knit (you might also want to lower the waist a bit, to make some extra room for the bust in the bodice)! I’ll be sure to cover that if we do a sewalong, OK?
      Thanks for your comment!! 🙂

  2. I keep forgetting to say – my second daughter arrived at the beginning of the year (4 weeks earlier than expected!) and we named her Isla! Loving the dress x

    • Hi Alice – This dress is designed for knit fabrics, so a woven cotton gauze wouldn’t have enough ease. Thanks for checking in!
